Music While You Cook?

Are you fed up of popping food into the microwave, hitting the timer, and then hanging around with nothing to do while waiting for your meal? Well, you might soon be watching your favorite YouTube clips instead of the plate, with Japan's new Castoven invention.

The kitchen is going musical, as researchers from Japan’s Keio University have invented a new kind of microwave: the Castoven, a web-enabled futuristic gadget with a 10.4-inch LCD and built-in speakers.

The idea is to display a YouTube video whose length matches the time you need to heat up whatever you are cooking. So, if you need to cook something for, 1 minute and 5 seconds, the Castoven will automatically pull a video from YouTube with the same length, and put it on the screen. When the video stops, your food is ready!
